Civil Rights & Civil Liberties

Know Your Rights

The United States Esports Association complies with federal civil rights laws and is committed to providing its programs and services without discrimination in accordance with, but not limited to:

  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin (including language)

  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibits discrimination based on disability

  • Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, which prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities

  • Age Discrimination Act of 1975, which prohibits discrimination based on age

  • US Department of Homeland Security Regulation 6 CFR Part 19, which prohibits discrimination based on religion in social service programs

 

The United States Esports Association affirms that it is against the law for it to retaliate against anyone who takes action to oppose discrimination, files a grievance, or participates in the investigation of a grievance in accordance with, but not limited to, the above authorities.

The United States Esports Association provides free aids and services, such as qualified language interpreters and written information in other formats to communicate effectively with persons with disabilities. The United States Esports Association also provides free language services, such as qualified foreign language interpreters and information written in other languages, to ensure meaningful access to programs and services for persons with limited English proficiency.

 

If you believe we have failed to provide programs or services, or have discriminated in another way, based on race, color, national origin (including language), disability, sex, age, or religion, then you may file a civil rights or civil liberties complaint against the United States Esports Association with either the United States Esports Association or the DHS Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Complaints must be made no later than 180 days following the date of the alleged discrimination.

Filing a Complaint

If you believe we have failed to provide programs or services, or have discriminated in another way, based on race, color, national origin (including language), disability, sex, age, or religion, then you may file a civil rights or civil liberties complaint against the United States Esports Association with either the United States Esports Association or the DHS Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Complaints must be made no later than 180 days following the date of the alleged discrimination.

You can file a civil rights and civil liberties complaint with the United States Esports Association by contacting Miguel Gil at miguel@esportsus.org (fastest way to submit a complaint), by completing a digital form and filing it electronically with Miguel Gil, or by downloading and completing a form and sending it to Miguel Gil at miguel@esportsus.org. We will only correspond with you by email.
