Site Accessibility

The United States Esports Association is committed to providing its programs and services without discrimination and in accordance with local, state, and federal civil rights authorities. Part of this commitment is having an accessible website and making other digital tools we use accessible to everyone.

This site is translated into major languages we believe are representative of the languages we may encounter in our regular course of work. If you require a different language or have feedback on translation quality, contact Miguel Gil at miguel@esportsus.org. If you believe you would benefit from any other reasonable accommodations to fully and meaningfully participate in our programs and services, including using this website, contact Miguel Gil at miguel@esportsus.org with a description of your request.

We believe this site is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level A and is mostly compliant at Levels AA and AAA. Our self-audit of this website against the WCAG 2.2 success criteria is provided below.

This site contains links to documents and digital forms; however, this self-audit doesn't consider non-site content, including these documents and digital forms. It also doesn't consider the accessibility of other sites that are linked to from this one.

WCAG 2.2 Principle 1 - Perceivable

Guideline 1.1 - Text Alternatives: Not Applicable

Guideline 1.2 - Time-based Media: Not Applicable

Guideline 1.3 - Adaptable: Partly Compliant at Level AA. Guideline 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships - Level A) is mostly not applicable, but where non-text content does communicate meaning, that meaning is described in full near the non-text content and the non-text content is excluded from the focus order to avoid confusion. Guideline 1.3.6 (Identify Purpose - Level AAA) is not fully implemented but may be partly implemented, especially for buttons and certain site regions.

Guideline 1.4 - Distinguishable: Partly Compliant at Level AA with Some Compliance at Level AAA. Guidelines 1.4.8 (Visual Presentation - Level AAA) and 1.4.10 (Reflow - Level AA) aren't implemented in any part. This site has varying contrast ratios depending on the positioning and overlay of certain text over certain backgrounds. All text is rendered as hex code #101D2D. Backgrounds are presented in one of three ways. Some backgrounds are presented only with color. These are rendered as hex code #FFFFFF or as hex code #ACE2E1. Other backgrounds are presented as images that have been altered to align with this site's color palette. These images were altered with Canva's Duotone feature. Highlights are set as hex code #FFFFFF, and shadows are set as hex code #ACE2E1. Wix's default focus indicator is rendered as hex code #106EFF. Contrast ratios are provided below and were calculated with Coolors, which is a property of Fabrizio Bianchi.

  • Text #101D2D overlaid on Background #FFFFFF has a contrast ratio of 16.99.

  • Text #101D2D overlaid on Background #ACE2E1 has a contrast ratio of 11.91.

  • Focus Indicator #106EFF on Background #FFFFFF has a contrast ratio of 4.47.

  • Focus Indicator #106EFF on Background #ACE2E1 has a contrast ratio of 3.13.

Guideline 2.4 - Navigable: Compliant at Level AAA

Guideline 2.5 - Input Modalities: Compliant at Level AAA
